What the free tiers really give you

The free chat tier stops after roughly five messages, according to Candy AI’s terms, enough to try a character but not to build much of a conversation. Shorts are kinder to newcomers: each public title opens with two complimentary episodes, and with 167 public titles in our coverage that is a large free sampler.

Tokens explained

On the Candy AI side, paying for chat buys unlimited messages and a monthly token budget, usually 100 tokens, that you spend on generated pictures and voice notes. The budget resets each billing period; leftovers do not carry over. Shorts episodes are unlocked by the membership rather than by spending tokens on each one. One detail matters for refunds: spending over 20 tokens rules a refund out under Candy AI’s terms, so heavy early use closes that door.

Characters who live in both worlds

Candy’s own recurring characters give the two sides a common thread. Mona, Holly, Veronica and DarkAngel each have their own Shorts series with consistent personalities. If you enjoy a character’s attitude on screen, it is natural to want more of her, and companion chat is where Candy built its characters in the first place. Star doubles: watch only

The six real performers with AI doubles, led by Riley Reid, appear in Shorts series. We have not seen evidence of chat versions of those doubles, so treat them as watch-only. Our Stars page explains how the approved doubles work.

Which one should you choose?

Choose chat if you want something personal: a character who answers you, a fantasy you design, a conversation you can pick up later. Choose Shorts if you want to be entertained without effort: press play, follow a story, find out how it ends. Many users end up doing both, using Shorts to discover characters and moods they like and chat to explore them further.

Which is more immersive?

Immersion depends on what draws you in. Chat is immersive because it is about you; Shorts are immersive because the production does the work, with settings, costumes and pacing you could never type into a chat box.

Privacy considerations

Both sides belong to the same company, EverAI Limited in Malta, and both are billed the same discreet way. Both products are adults-only. Candy AI’s terms restrict the service to adults and set out a dedicated age policy. Every Shorts character is written as a grown adult, and the star titles exist with the performers’ consent, which is the line that separates them from deepfakes.

Cost comparison

Both products are subscriptions from the same company, but they price different things. Shorts membership buys access to finished episodes. Chat membership buys conversation plus a token budget for extras. A note on the word interactive

Some sites call any AI porn interactive, including video you simply watch. We keep the word for experiences that respond to you.
